being different, is difficult at times. rich and poor is easy. what about upper middle, middle middle and lower middle class. what about when its not about money, just the upbringing. just the choices your parents made, before you were born. maybe its that there is no value for money. or respect for it, or what ever that is. but maybe its having seen people who have soo much of it lying around but they're miserable and just try to buy the relationships and happiness that they want. 50 bucks a month is a cheap way to buy love huh. money comes and goes, often, but untill you open your mind to learning how to spend it, its not worth a damn. yeah you can save it. and thats a damn good idea. but here's the deal. if you save and save, so that ... whatever, but don't experience as much of your life you could have, what will you pass on. where do you belong. where you let yourself belong. be it the swankiest bar in 'town' or the shadiest one in the burbs. why is it that ..... there was a time when the aristrocat made the peasents life miserable just because they knew they had the upper hand. there are no aristrocats , no peasents.... but god help the lad who happened to be a 'bada baap ka beta'. it would be so easy to be vicious. just destroy the person in front of you. but like uncle ben said.... " with great power comes great responsibility".

Comments:
money is such an interesting topic that rarely is dicussed on nomadlife, but something required of us all the time (to be "nomads").

im gonna be in mumbai april 30th, hope we can meet up!! mojitos

parents role is critical. I am surrounded by a lot "bada baap ka betas" here at CMU..a visible difference from the much more down to earth crowd at UT. It gets to me sometimes.

My favorite way to evaluate someone is take away money from their lives and what you are left with is their true worth

I don't have anything to say about the post. Just found your blog and wanted to say hi real quick. I hope everything is going great with you.

drake my boy, would be kick ass to meet ya. april 30th sounds good, i should (hopefully) be in town. scheduled to arrive back on the 28th as of now with no trips planned till the 1st.
evan hi back and good to hear from you. things are going well here and i'm hopeing the same for you bac in austin.
sui, you shmuck, you got me all paranoid about yousecretly thinking of me as a 'bbkb' and evaluating me san the dinero. hope i passed. cause i know there were times when you saw me broke! grin. what i'm amazed at is hope many different sides there are to the same thing. in threee conversations i've had on the issues, there have been three totally different points of view, and suprisingly none of them are wrong or contradictory in any way, just different ways of thinking.

ahh, so you'll be in town for one day? I'll be staying in Bandra at the Executive Enclave...i have to do a wedding thang starting the 3rd, i want mojitos!

drakey, not just one day, i'm not sure how long tho. how long are you there for? bandra huh? well it will have to do. and don't worry about the mojitos. we carry out a in-depth study of the mojito making skills of bombay bars and end up very drunk.
sound good?

WAY TO GO, KARAN.

Okay, I'll be in Mumbai from Sunday Apr 30 to Sunday May 7th. Short trip.

can you email me your digits at drakep1 at gmail.com?
