2 months since my last post. selfish to the extreme, reading everyone's blog not posting squat on mine. time to make up for that.
i did lotsa thing in august i'm sure but by far the biggest was the wedding. My Chacha ( step dad's younger couzin brother) and chachi (his wife) got married. and i happened to be best man. ironic that since i'm hindu and he's muslim i wasn't really allowed anywhere near the official cermony , but in all other sences. i dont know how people do it! the wedding was small scale with the serious functions being a mehendi ( women do hand designs),sangeet (sing dance, drink), peethi(every woman in the guys family get to smash eggs and other edible items on him), nikkah(the actual wedding) and the reception. clothes,jewellery,music guests, cars, hotelrooms. not to mention the stress, politics, emotions, resentments, exaspiration and sheer exaustion! and of cource the dance. one item number, with chacha and me, making a fool of ourselves in front of 200 people to the song "dus bahane". meger rehearsal, totally out of sync, but all caught on photo and video. god bless technology. but we rocked... grin. wedding went off, and all the little hiccups were sutibaly delt with. no one was killed. its off to the honeymoon and welcome to september. weird to think that it was just a month ago, seems like soo much longer, as usual.
