i've said it before and i'll say it again, being good and honest will get you into trouble. last week my mom's dear sweet uncle passed away. so to be good i went with her for the marka ( kinda like a wake - a session of quiet prayer and reflection followed by giving your condolences to the family) now as i step out of the temple i see that my shoes ( which had been stored in the designated area and i had a little numberd tag for as well) have ben stolen. grin whats worse is that it wasn't that big of a suprise. i just hadnt been back in so long that i had forgotten. stealing shoes from a religious center. sarcrilige huh? but what is religion . i'm hindu, she's muslim, he's christian. religion is something you are born into. if your parents are something chances are you will be to. you chose your religion as much as you choose your family. what you do chose is faith. you chose to belive. and thats what makes us all the same. that we are 'believers'. not in shiva, or allah, or christ. not in communion, or ramzan or diwali. my mom's prayer table has a picture of ganesh, guru nanak, the aga khan and christ. our diwali parties arnt complete till one of the d'souza boys catch fire. btw diwali party on friday night. pooja starts at sunset , festivities continue till the last person leaves. do come...
back to my point. what was it....yes, i dont have a religion. i have faith. my religion is just the way i chose to dress it up. ain't it purty?

if you think someone can't handle the truth, you are probably right. don't tell em that you think that. dont ask them if they are sure they want to know. run. hide. avoid the topic ever coming up. ignorance is bliss. if they find out later chances are the execution will be quick and efficient instead of the slow sporadic one you are destined to face!
